Glamorous start to Oktoberfest in Munich

Munich, September 10, 2025 – The fifth season is approaching, and on Tuesday evening, the Angermaier Trachtennacht kicked off the Oktoberfest atmosphere.

With a lively “O'zapft is!” from cabaret artist Jürgen Kirner, Munich's hottest pre-Oktoberfest party kicked off on Tuesday evening. The anticipation for Oktoberfest was palpable, and even before the official start at Theresienwiese, the celebrations were in full swing. The Alte Kongresshalle, just a stone's throw away from the Theresienwiese, was transformed into a glittering stage full of tradition, lifestyle, and celebrities. The unique mixture of exuberant atmosphere, glamorous guests, and Bavarian customs makes the Angermaier Trachtennacht an absolute must-attend event year after year and increases the anticipation for Oktoberfest immeasurably.

In true Oktoberfest style, around 600 guests raised their glasses of freshly tapped Augustiner beer, enjoyed Bavarian delicacies, and got into the party mood, first with Bavarian brass band music from Bachhauser Blasmusik and later with the Oktoberfest band Ois Easy. There was exuberant dancing and laughter until the early hours of the morning – side by side with traditional costume icon Dr. Axel Munz and his daughter Nina. The guests included a first-class lineup of stars: Schlager legend Jürgen Drews appeared with his wife Ramona. Both were more than proud when their enchanting daughter Joelina, together with Lucas Cordalis and Achim Petry, thrilled the audience with their singing performance.

Also in attendance were GNTM winner Barbara Meier, actress Mariella Ahrens, and DJ Giulia Siegel. The celebrity lineup was rounded out by actors Nele Kiper, Michael Kranz, Mercedes Müller, and Debby Müller. They all provided plenty of glamour and flashing cameras. The night was not only a tribute to Bavarian tradition, but also a glamorous society highlight.

A laser show and an impressive performance by the DDC Breakers provided a spectacular start to the evening, captivating the audience from the outset with their breathtaking energy and dancing skills. This set the stage for the centerpiece of the Angermaier Trachtennacht: the grand Wiesn trend fashion show, which showcased the latest styles for Oktoberfest 2025 in a dance performance – modern, dynamic, and rousing.

A special highlight was the finale of Germany's largest dirndl casting. The three winners presented themselves in festive traditional costumes in front of a large audience: Sophia Koch took third place, Antonia Schmidt second, and the victory went to Layla Beutler, who enchanted the audience with her performance.

In addition to fashion and casting, other program items provided variety and entertainment: guests tried their luck at roulette in traditional costumes, while various stations provided hair and makeup, bag tags, cosmetics, etc. Olympians Felix Loch and Denise Schindler thrilled the audience with traditional costumes created especially for Angermaier's Olympic bid. Afterwards, the cult Oktoberfest band Ois Easy heated up the after-party and turned the evening into an unforgettable celebration that lasted late into the night.

Presenter Angela Ascher charmingly and humorously guided the audience through the program and rounded off the evening perfectly with her entertaining manner.
