“As a Bavarian, this is really something very special for me!” And for all fans of sustainability, the “Angermaier greenline x Barbara Meier” capsule collection is of course a real highlight, because “it's still really hard to find sustainable dirndls,” says Meier. That's why her dirndls offer something for every customer: from elegant to classic.
“This sustainable dirndl collection with Angermaier is a real labor of love for me,” explains the 35-year-old, who has been campaigning for a better environment for years and has been an ambassador for fair and environmentally friendly fashion for the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development since 2017.
It's a logical collaboration, as Angermaier launched the world's first sustainable traditional costume collection, “Greenline,” in 2017: all components of the dresses—from the fabric to the buttons, lining, and thread—are eco-certified and tested for harmful substances. The entire supply chain is subject to inspection. We have developed this over many years with our Austrian fabric weavers.
This year's Oeko-Tex-certified “Angermaier Greenline x Barbara Meier” capsule collection features fine fabrics such as velvet and brocade, as well as beautifully woven skirts with floral patterns.
